Fat Traps

A properly sized fat trap, with proper maintenance, will drastically reduce waste, fat and oil levels in the wastewater below 50 ppm, eliminating the need for secondary treatment with enzymes or chemicals and reducing sewer blockages. Recovered fats and oils have minimal impurities and can be processed in appropriate waste management units, reducing the kitchen's carbon footprint on the environment.

Fat Traps Categories

There are Active and Passive Fat traps availlable for commercial use. Fat traps must be emptied monthly or bi-monthly, which the former do this automatically, since the fats and oils are collected in an externally placed container. When full it is easily emptied into a special container we provide you with, which our specialist team collects and replaces upon request. There is hence no daily maintenance involved, thus reducing unpleasant odours and the spread of pathogenic microorganisms in your kitchen.

Kafsis provides a range of services that range from the holistic management of your fats and oils, to individual services based on your specific needs. We offer consulting, supply, installation and maintenance services, as well as collection and management of edible oil and fat waste. Our fully qualified technicians perform the installation of the fat traps in your kitchen as per manufacturer's instruction and warranty terms, as well as offering periodic maintenance services and on-site training.

Consulting Services

The size of grease trap required is based on the flow rate of the equipment connected to the drainage unit. We undertake a fat trap sizing study tailored to your space and needs, and provide you with the necessary support in obtaining a Liquid Waste Drainage Permit. At Kafsis, we also issue an annual waste collection certificate to all our customers subscribed to our oil & fats collection service - required for the accurate completion of their Electronic Waste Register.

Waste Collection Management

We undertake the collection and processing of edible fat and oil waste, either as a stand alone service or as part of our holistic management package.
