In order to efficiently transform waste into green energies, KAFSIS has invested in state of the art processing plants that allow us to treat virtually any type of non-hazardous waste. Situated across Greece, our processing facilities are built sustainably and are powered by the biofuels and other alternative forms of green energy we produce through our treatment operations.

Intermediate Organic Waste Management Unit (I.O.W.)

In our company’s modern intermediate handling unit, organic waste (animal and vegetable) is managed and stored before being sent and processed to final disposal units. Our intermediate handling unit enables cost savings as by combining multiple loads with just one route, labor, transport and operational costs are significantly reduced.

Incineration

Category 1 animal by-products are classified amongst the most harmful types of animal by- products to human health, and must be carefully transferred, processed and incinerated in high temperatures with all appropriate environmental measures in place. Thanks to our advanced incineration plant, KAFSIS reduces the spread of potentially dangerous diseases by offering safe treatment of all animal by-products.

Sorting & Recycling

Once we have safely retrieved your waste, we transport it to our sorting plant for initial treatment. This facility allows us to efficiently sort all your waste into different types of recyclable materials, allowing us to target the proper treatment methods and maximizing the amount of reusable resources we can produce.

Biogas

Thanks to its cutting-edge technology, KAFSIS can efficiently transform raw materials such as agricultural waste, animal and plant by-products, manure and food waste into biogas. This form of renewable energy has many uses, such as powering your homes and businesses. Any remaining output from the biogas transformation process is then used to produce high-quality fertilizer and compost.

Rendering Plants

Our rendering plants use thermal treatments to process animal byproducts in order to produce meat, fish, and bone meal, which in turn can be used to create high quality fertilizers and alternative fuels. Our facilities can safely treat almost any type of dangerous animal waste produced by slaughterhouses, restaurants and butcher shops.
